Reformed Church of Turda Veche
The survey, study and rehabilitation of the church are a primary necessity for the enhancement of the precious place of worship, steeped in over 700 years of history.
The Church
Designed in Gothic style, with a single nave, 26 m long, 8.5 m wide and 16 m high.
The Story
Historians claim that the present church was part of the monastery of the Knights of the order of Saint John, first attested in Turda in 1274.
Parish
The Reformed church in Turda Veche is the only standing Augustinian church in Transylvania.
The church is located in the centre of Turda, having in the immediate vicinity another building, a historical monument, namely the Vojvodal Palace, today the Turda History Museum.
In 2016 the decision was taken to restore the church in order to increase the average number of visitors.
